LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- 7:40 PM Update – As we continue into the evening and early overnight hours, additional shower and thunderstorm development is taking place across areas of western Arkansas.
This possibility was expected as storm fuel remains available and outflow boundaries (focal points to help thunderstorms form) are positioned throughout Arkansas from early day activity.
Strong but damaging wind gusts and large hail will be the primary concerns with any thunderstorm that can become severe. If storms are slow-moving, a good downpour could cause some localized, brief flash flooding. The tornado threat is very low.
Make sure to stay weather aware for this evening by downloading our Arkansas Storm Team app from Google Play or the App Store. On the app, you can find an interactive radar you can use to track storms in your area.
We will be monitoring activity from the weather center and providing updates online across all of our social media platforms and on the air.
