LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Every school day more than 100 Little Rock School District students find their way to Life Skills for Youth and its after school program.
Eloise Propps has been with Life Skills for six years, she said, "When they come here the parents know that they are safe, and that they are going to get their homework done and that they are going to be fed and they are going to be taken care of."
Life Skills started 11 years ago with a mission of giving positive alternatives to negative activities.
Ms. Propps added, "To give the students somewhere to be after school instead of just hanging out and getting into trouble."
This program is more than just fun, the students learn life lessons and focus on homework with certified teachers and tutors on hand.
Ms. Propps said, "It's important to teach them social skills and life skills so they can carry that throughout their life with them."
Life Skills for Youth is helping create a brighter future for Little Rock, Ms. Propps added, "We are making a big difference in these student's life."
