the Razorback softball season has come to a close and that unfortunately means the close of the softball careers at Arkansas for Tori Cooper, Autumn Buczek, Loren Krzysko and AJ Belans.
Buczek is a Greenbrier, Ark. native who ended the year second on the team in batting average, hitting .314. Playing for her home state was a dream come true.
“It’s just been an extreme blessing to be apart of the growth of this program,” Buczek told the Pig Trail Nation. “It was a rocky start, but I think it brought us closer as a team. This team this year was one of a kind. The relationships that were built are incredible and are ones that are gonna be there forever. And then the success that we have had is just absolutely incredible. And something I’ll hold onto forever, just knowing I got to be a small part of it.”
This senior class experienced exactly one SEC win in their first year, but ended their careers by taking the program to their first ever Super Regional appearance.
“I think it’s really just awesome to take a step back and look at just truly how far we’ve come,” said Cooper. “It’s never easy to know that we’re in our uniform for the last time but I think knowing that we’re apart of a season that’s just been history making every single weekend is just really special.”
The Razorbacks finished the season with the third most wins in program history and the highest total by a Razorback team since the 2000 campaign.
