Several former prep standouts in Arkansas are now in Kansas playing junior college football in the Jayhawk Conference.
Through the years, Arkansas has had several players from that league play for them. The Razorbacks currently have one former Jayhawk Conference player on scholarship. Junior defensive end Gabe Richardson played at Hutchinson Community College.
Here’s a look at each of the junior colleges in Kansas with a connection to the state of Arkansas outside of Garden City Community College. They don’t list the hometown of the players on their roster.
Coffeyville Community College
Monta Thomas, RB, 6-1, 200, Hampton, Sophomore
Kyron Hillard, DL, 6-4, 245, Camden, Redshirt Freshman
Darius Hopkins, RB, 6-1, 200, Nashville, Sophomore
Tristan Snider, OL, 6-2, 305, De Queen, Sophomore
Thomas said Friday morning he currently doesn’t have any offers. He has rushed 32 times for 302 yards and four touchdowns with a long of 79. He has caught five passes for 39 yards and two touchdowns. Also, has a kickoff return for 16 yards.
Hopkins has 13 carries for 69 yards with a long of 13. He has caught one pass for one yard.
Hillard has one tackle and a tackle for loss.
Also former Arkansas quarterback Carson Proctor is at Coffeyville. Proctor, 6-4, 210, was a walk-on quarterback for the Hogs in 2016-17 seasons. He is a redshirt sophomore from Vero Beach, Fla. He has completed 29 of 52 passes for 493 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions.
Fort Scott Community College
Deontre Hardwick, DL, 6-1, 275, Fort Smith, Sophomore
Hardwick was a standout linebacker at Fort Smith Northside. This season he has four tackles, including two unassisted, one sack and a tackle for loss.
Kale Pick is the head coach at Fort Scott. Pick was once a commitment to Arkansas in the Class of 2008. He was a quarterback from Dodge City, Kan., who eventually decommitted from the Hogs and signed with Kansas. He played both quarterback and wide receiver for Kansas from 2008-2012.
Highland Community College
Chris Leaks, TE, 6-4, 240, Rison, Sophomore
Leaks has no stats thus far this season.
Hutchinson Community College
Antonio Rice, DB, 6-1, 179, Mabelvale, Freshman

Schucker is the starting quarterback for Hutchinson. He has completed 47 of 98 passes for 567 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.
Jackson played football at Parkers Chapel. He has 39 carries for 165 yards and a touchdown with a long of 29. He has caught two passes for seven yards and also returned three kickoffs for 117 yards.
Wilkerson has one tackle.
Alfred Davis coaches the defensive line and is a former Razorback. Davis lettered at Arkansas from 2009-2012.
Independence Community College
