This week our Most Valuable Kid is Gavin. He’s 11-years-old and has some special skills just like one Pro Hog.
“That looks really good. But, I’m allergic to it,” says Gavin. “I really want to eat it but I’m allergic to it.”
This is the daily struggle for Gavin. He has a very long list of food allergies that includes shrimp, pork, sesame, peanuts, corn and wheat. That’s just to name a few!
He realized something was wrong a few years ago. He says, “I was just sitting down while the teacher was teaching. I stood up and walked like two steps and I just passed out.”
With the help of Arkansas Children’s, Gavin now knows what to stay away from, allowing him to do more of what he loves.
“Our NaNa is an Irish Dance teacher,” says Gavin. “Now that I’m old enough, I can actually dance.”
Just like former Razorback and current Baltimore Raven, Alex Collins.
“I saw that in the news and was like really I do the same thing,” says Gavin. “I’m like wow!”
McTelvin Agim, current Arkansas defensive lineman, recorded a special message for Gavin. To watch it, see the video above.
