KOHLER, Wis. — Thousands of fans line the fences near the putting green and driving range at Whistling Straits to try and catch autographs of their favorite players.
Kids had 18th hole flags and hats ready for players to sign, and many golfers stopped after their practice rounds to sign hundreds of autographs.
For Brendan Forsythe, and Colin, Caroline, and Trey Kiesler, they came to the tournament knowing what autographs they wanted to get.
“Adam Scott,” Caroline, 6, said.
“Jordan Spieth,” Colin, 11, said.
The group came for the day from Illinois and were soaking up the experience being at the PGA Championship.  And, they had a strategy for getting the best signatures.
“Standing right here (by the putting green and driving range), because this is where they come off the course,” Brendan, 11, said.
They said day isn’t just about getting autographs, it’s also about seeing the pros hit the course.
“(After getting autographs) we’re going to watch some of the golfers play,” Colin said.
