LITTLE ROCK — It may technically be a “dead period” in NCAA Division 1 college basketball recruiting right now, but there is nothing dormant about Head Hog Eric Musselman’s Arkansas Razorbacks recruiting.
Three 2020 Arkansas offers updated their Razorbacks recruiting on Monday …
* 2020 Che Evans (6-6 wing/SF, Neumann-Goretti in Philadelphia, National No. 77 / 4-star prospect according to Rivals.com) said his interest level in Arkansas is “high” and that he’s “excited” about his planned visit to Arkansas in early June.
“This visit will determine a lot and I’m excited for it!” Evans said on Monday.
Evans picked up his Arkansas offer on May 8. He & 17U Team Melo played Arkansas-based 17U Woodz Elite at Nike EYBL session in Atlanta with Arkansas coaches in attendance. He finsihed with 10 points and 2 rebounds in that game.
He reportedly holds offer from Texas Tech, UCLA, Florida, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Georgetown, St. John’s, Kansas State, Georgia Tech, TCU, Oregon State, Boise State, & others. He visited Boise State in early November.
Evans has a sturdy frame and displays a multitude of perimeter shooting/scoring skill in his offensive arsenal. Linked is a brief highlight reel from his 2018-19 high school season …
* 2020 Jamille Reynolds (6-9, 230, power forward, Lakewood, FL, 17U Nightrydas Elite on Nike EYBL circuit, national 3-star prospect) announced via Twitter on Monday that he has received an offer from Arkansas.
“I’ve been talking to Coach (Anthony) Ruta,” Reynolds said. “I am interested (in Arkansas). The guy that helps me with my recruiting process has talked to the head coach (Eric Musselman) and he says that they are in need of a big and I think it would possibly be a good fit for me.”
In addition to Arkansas, Reynolds reportedly holds offers from Florida, Iowa State, South Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, North Florida, and Florida Atlantic.
Reynolds is a space-eater, and his game is that of a traditional low-block big.
* 2020 Jaylin Williams (6-10 F/C, FSNorthside, 17U Woodz Elite, Nat’l Top 100 / 4*) confirmed he’ll take an official visit to Oklahoma State (June 7-10), but he also talked about visiting the Hogs.
“I’m planning on taking (visits) with Auburn & Arkansas soon, too,” said Williams, whose offer list includes Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Auburn, TCU, Illinois, Tulsa, and Lamar.
Williams has been Top 2 in rebounding and Top 3 in “boscore plus/minus” through two sessions (Atlanta and Indianapolis) on the Nike EYBL circuit. He was recently bumped up to national No. 100 / a 4-star prospect by Rivals.com.
Williams is a skilled big who can beat a defense with a shot or a pass while facing up away from the basket, and he combines that with being a volume rebounder and rim-protector inside.
