Arkansas added a pair of Texans on Sunday and they definitely got better.

The Hogs added four-star offensive lineman Ty’kieast Crawford from Carthage and tight end Allen Horace from Crockett. Both were highly recruited and had several other options.

Crawford, 6-6, 320, is the first offensive lineman landed by the Hogs in the Class of 2020. He chose the Hogs over schools from all over the nation including Alabama, USC, Texas A&M, LSU and many others. Crawford could have gone to any school in the nation, but he chose the Razorbacks.

Lining up at right tackle on Carthage’s offensive line, he’s a man among boys in high school. He can pass block extremely well, but in the running game he opens holes big enough to drive a truck through. He is a complete mismatch for the defensive linemen trying to get past him to tackle the Carthage quarterback or running back.

Crawford is someone who will have a chance to make an immediate impact at Arkansas. Not many offensive linemen come into the SEC ready to go to battle like Crawford is. He’s a four-star prospect with 247Sports and the 247Composite.

Horace, 6-5, 234, is more of a wide receiver in Crockett’s offense, but will move to tight end with Chad Morris and the Hogs. He has outstanding hands and very good speed. He will have to learn to block more than he does in high school once he moves to tight end, but that isn’t uncommon. Hudson Henry, Cheyenne O’Grady, Hunter Henry and most other tight ends at Arkansas in recent years played more like a wide receiver in high school.

Horace, who is outstanding on the basketball court as well, has outstanding skills when the ball is in the air. He will go get the 50-50 balls that Arkansas needs from its tight ends. On his highlight, the defensive back tipped the ball and appeared to be in shape for an interception. Instead, Horace reaches back with his left hand and pulled the ball in as he sprinted for a touchdown.

Arkansas wants to sign two tight ends in the Class of 2020. Horace should fit in great in future years with Hudson Henry at Arkansas. It will be interesting to see if McKinney (Texas) High School’s Brandon Frazier joins Horace at Arkansas.

Horace is rated a three-star recruit with all the major recruiting services.

Arkansas has six commitments in the Class of 2020.
