“And we’re back on the Pigtrail show. Richard Davenport joining us now. He’s from WholeHog Sports in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette and we are all still trying to let it sink in. That 41 to 38 victory in dramatic fashion last night at TCU. For the Arkansas Razorbacks, what are some recruiting reactions to that, some of the guys Arkansas is looking at?”
Richard Davenport
“Yeah, I communicated with 20 or so that are either committed to Arkansas or are considering Arkansas, and the general theme was just how Arkansas fought through the whole game, and overcame a lot of adversity. I think all fans can appreciate that, but when you’re a recruit and you’re considering a school, you want to go to a program that fights and has heart, and Arkansas showed that. And it’s definitely a plus for recruiting. There’s no doubt about it. I got some reaction from guys that normally doesn’t reply back to me, but they were really excited about the victory.”
Drew Amman
“Yeah. As expected, and you know what, let’s now move to Daniel Parker Jr. from the class of 2018 and a D lineman. We all know that the Arkansas D line this year looks really good but what can you tell me about Daniel down the road of the 2018 class?”
Richard Davenport
“He in Blue Springs, Missouri played Fayetteville last weekend, and he stayed in town for the Louisiana Tech game. He didn’t attend the game, but he and his parents visited Arkansas that morning and left after the visit, and he was very impressed. He was committed to Missouri, but reopened his recruitment. Very talented defensive lineman, who definitely had a strong impression of Arkansas after he left.”
Drew Amman
“Class of 2019, really excited about Brian Williams. He is Rawleigh’s brother, but this is Williams that plays on the defensive side of the football. He is a safety.”
Richard Davenport
“He is that and he is definitely one of the 2019 prospects, regardless of position, in the country. I mean Brian, it’s amazing. I’ve seen him grow up over the last three or four years, and now he is 6″1′ 190. A very, very aggressive safety with a lot of speed and suddenness to him. He obviously is very well versed on the Arkansas program because of his brother. He got an offer from Coach Bielema before the Louisiana Tech game, and that was really something he was looking forward to.”
Drew Amman
“Well, a lot of movement for Arkansas right now. Basketball recruiting. This is some great news for Mike Anderson’s program. Ethan Henderson committing. He is from the class of 2018.”
Richard Davenport
“Yeah, and he is the fifth Arkansas Hawk to commit to Arkansas from the 16 and under team. Very skilled, a 6’9” 189 pound forward who can really run the field very well. Very good face up game towards the basket and very good defensively too. I think a lot of people underestimate how good he is defensively. But he is rated number 43 the overall prospect in the country in the 2018 class, by Hoops Seen, so very very good pickup.
Drew Amman
“Also, from the 2018 class Keyshawn Embery. What about Keyshawn?”
Richard Davenport
“Keyshawn is going to visit this coming weekend for the Texas State game. Arkansas recently offered him. He is about 6’4′ 190. Very skilled combo guard. He is very excited about Arkansas, and the good thing is they are getting him on campus early in the process, so that is a plus. He is a guy who can definitely fit in Arkansas’s system. A very relentless defender and a very good outside shooter, but can play the one or the two.”
Drew Amman
“Great stuff as always from our recruiter guy. That is Richard Davenport, RD from Arkansas Democrat Gazette and WholeHog Sports. Back with more on the Pigtrail after this.”
