Aaron Peters, Razorback Nation Anchor:
“Welcome back to the show. Time now for our Roundtable discussion. Mike Irwin and Bo Mattingly joining me. We start with the big news regarding Razorback football with offensive line coach Sam Pittman leaving for Georgia and head coach Bret Bielema handling it in a interesting way. Bo what do you make of this situation?”

Bo Mattingly, Sports talk with Bo:
“Well obviously Bret Bielema thought he and Sam Pittman were a lot closer than they really are. I think he feels personally hurt just judging by the way he is talking about this. Then you add the other frustration as it comes in the heat of recruiting. Arkansas and Georgia recruiting some of the same 0-lineman. Pittman is supposed to be at the wedding of an offensive lineman that both Arkansas and Georgia are on. Then from a coaching standpoint trying to hire assistants and keep them. Not being able to do that again, that was one of the main reasons he came to Arkansas. Add all of that together and this is a very frustrating time for him.”

Mike Irwin, Razorback Nation Analyst:
“I think this is going to be the last time that an assistant coach under Bielema will not have a conference no compete. He talked to Pittman about it and he said he didn’t need it because he liked working here. All coaches say that. Dan Enos said that yesterday. The difference is that Enos has a non compete. I agree with Bo, they were not as close as Bielema thought they were. I think that its obvious how close he was to Jim Chaney who went to Pitt and is now at Georgia and I think Bilema underestimated that relationship too. Now he has to find a new O-line coach and its interesting because the fans are now moving on from this and saying that now that Pittman is gone he is not as good as he was, believe me he is as good as he was.”

Aaron Peters, Razorback Nation Anchor:
“Pittman part of that original coach staff that did not have a non compete. It will be hard to replace Pittman’s coaching but also his recruiting as he is known as a great recruiter. Now offensive coordinator Dan Enos is staying partly because of that non compete. How big is that?

Bo Mattingly, Sports talk with Bo:
“You know Kirby Smart is loving being able to throw that one back at Bielema after Bielema said sorry he has a no compete. He is wishing Pittman had one. When you have good coaches people are going to come after them and this non compete stuff is a new deal. Give Jeff Long credit because it did save them their offensive coordinator. It would be huge if they were to lose him with the continuity on this stuff continuing to turn over. Guys, when I look around college football it is such a transitional business its just crazy. There were 15 head coaching jobs open. 11 of the 14 SEC coaches have been there four years or less and we can’t even count the number of assistants that are going. How do you build a program?

Mike Irwin, Razorback Nation Analyst:
“If the offense continues to have the type of success it was having. At the end of the season it was record breaking output. You have Brandon Allen who four games into the season people still wanted him benched. Now he might be one of the best QB in the SEC. Enos will become a head coach again so you are going to lose him down the road it’s just a question of how long.”

Aaron Peters, Razorback Nation Anchor:
“Arkansas scoring 50 points or more three times this season under Enos so improvement there. The Liberty bowl is next how important is if for Arkansas to win that game?”

Bo Mattingly, Sports talk with Bo:
“I think its important because it gives you momentum into the off season. This is a game that Arkansas should win Bill Snyder will have a game plan that will not be easy. I think its important to hit the reset button and end the season on a high note.

Mike Irwin, Razorback Nation Analyst:
“I still think its going to be interesting with Sam Pittman leaving. You are going to have a GA coaching these lineman. So we will see how Dan Enos minimizes that situation so it could be a problem.”

Aaron Peters, Razorback Nation Anchor:
“Ok thank you Mike and Bo. Up next a special treat as former Razorback great Madre Hill is in the house. Stick around for that interview.”
