LITTLE ROCK, Ark.  — If you’re out shopping today, go ahead and grab some items to donate for D.J.’s Day of Action benefiting Little Rock non-profit Women & Children First

D.J.’s Day of Action is three-part initiative aimed at creating awareness, providing resources and raising money for Women & Children First.

Thought the day, KARK is asking viewers for monetary donations via telephone and the internet or to drop-off needed items at Hank’s Furniture Stores.

Here is the Top 10 list for donations for DJ’s Day of Action:

  • Pillows & Pillow Cases
  • Twin Sheet Sets
  • Towels & Washcloths
  • Pots, Pans, and Cooking Utensils
  • Umbrella Strollers
  • Pack N Plays
  • High Chairs
  • Dining Booster Seats
  • Tide Pods
  • Disinfecting Wipes/Spray

The drop off locations are these Hank’s Fine Furniture Stores:

For those who aren’t familiar with Women & Children First, here’s what they provide to Arkansas:

  • Emergency Shelter: accommodations were provided to 581 individuals, representing more than 6,972 shelter days.
  • Advocacy Program: provided crisis intervention, case management, and emotional support totaling over 1,600 hours of group and individual support.
  • Domestic Violence Hotline: answered over 3,500 crisis calls.
  • Court Advocacy Program: provided more than 1,000 women with legal support and court accompaniment.
  • Transitional Housing: provided more than 500 case management hours and support services to 38 clients seeking permanent housing free of violence after leaving the shelter.
  • Children’s Program: served over 200 children in the shelter, in addition to educational and group support activities.
