UPDATE: LRAFB Airman killed in NLR robbery Friday night

Update (Sunday, 11:30 a.m.):   

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An Airman assigned to the 19th Logistics Readiness Squadron was killed in the attempted robbery Friday night at a gas station in North Little Rock.

“Senior Airman Shawn Mckeough Jr. served as an aerial delivery operations specialist for the 19th LRS.

His responsibilities included preparing aerial delivery loads and loading unilateral aircrew training bundles.  

 “We are heartbroken to have lost a valued member of our Team Little Rock family.” said Col. Gerald Donohue, 19 Airlift Wing commander.

“Shawn’s death will be felt by each of us, and we are committed to supporting his loved ones and fellow Airmen during this very difficult time.”

 The investigation is being handled by the North Little Rock Police Department. The Little Rock AFB team is committed to providing its full cooperation as the investigation is ongoing. Any questions regarding the investigation should be directed to NLRPD.”

Update(Saturday):   

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – North Little Rock Police Officers are looking for two suspects accused of shooting and killing a gas station customer during an armed robbery.

It happened just before midnight Friday.  

Police say the suspects, covered in black and with firearms, walked into the Valero Big Red gas station at 601 W. Broadway. 

During the robbery, shots were fired, ultimately killing the customer. 

The name of the victim has not been released. North Little Rock Police say they are a member of the U.S. Armed Forces. Officers are working with that branch of the Armed Forces at this time.  
 
The North Little Rock Police Department is offering a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible. You can call the 24-hour tip line at 501-680-8439. You can remain anonymous.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Police are investigating a deadly shooting at a gas station near a busy intersection late Friday night.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Police dispatched to reports of a robbery where shots had been fired.

When they arrived they found the victim inside the store.

That person died at the scene.

This is the first homicide in North Little Rock in 2019.
