Update: LR Homicide Victim ID’d as Man, 55

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A local man has been identified as the homicide victim found shot dead early Friday.

The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) says the body of Eric Woods, 55, was found shortly before 2 a.m. lying in the street in the area of 26th and Gaines. Police say Woods had suffered a wound to the upper body.

The LRPD says witnesses reported seeing the victim standing near a dark colored sedan that was stopped in the street before they heard several gunshots being fired and saw the vehicle drive away.

Crime scene technicians collected evidence found at the scene. 

Police say detectives are working to identify a suspect.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A 55-year-old man has been found dead after a Friday morning shooting on Gaines Street.

The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) says the incident was reported around 1:45 in the area of 26th & Gaines.

A vehicle was reportedly seen leaving the area after the deadly shots were fired.

The LRPD is not yet releasing the identity of the victim or any suspect information.
