Tonight the Little Rock Board of Directors was scheduled to discuss and vote on board changes. Including, re-purposing the at-large positions and the changes to the Mayor’s duties.
The pair of items were pulled off the agenda just minutes before the meeting.
Mayor Frank Scott Jr. did not give any reason as to why.
Mayor Scott did say the board voted to take these items off the agenda. However, a vote did not happen at the agenda-setting meeting last week or the meeting tonight.
“I think the board wanted to focus 2020, I think is that important, this Lift Little Rock campaign so I think that was more the rationale of why the board members voted to remove it,” said Mayor Frank Scott Jr, Little Rock.
Several people who attended the meeting said they were going to talk about these items but were shocked to see the changes.
“We don’t give proper notice so I was just totally shocked to see it had been withdrawn,” said Julius Larry, Attended Meeting.
Mayor Scott would not say who made the motion to remove the items, he only said it came from a ‘staff level.’
Mayor Scott did say it is possible to see these items again on the agenda in the future.
