JONESBORO, Ark. – As storms moved through Northeast Arkansas on Thursday another weather phenomenon was spotted.

KAIT Region 8 News in Jonesboro reported a landspout was captured on camera by some of its viewers.

It was spotted in eastern Craighead County.

While they may resemble tornadoes, our meteorologists say landspouts are formed from a cumulus cloud and rarely have winds over 50 mph.
