GARLAND COUNTY, Ark. — People who were evacuated from their homes following the gas line rupture in Garland County are now able to return home.
The Garland County Sheriff’s Office confirms the evacuation orders were lifted around 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Garland County officials discovered early Friday morning the line was actually a natural gas line rupture of a 30” main line that Enable Gas Company owns.
Authorities say there were no injuries or property damage other than the pipeline itself.
The pipeline company should fix the line this morning.
GARLAND COUNTY, Ark. — Authorities are responding to a gas main rupture near Highway 7 and Glazypeau Road, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Garland County Sheriff’s Office says there was an explosion, but no fire. Officials say there were evacuations within a half-mile to a mile radius of the gas line as of 1:15 Friday morning.
Garland County officials tell KARK they had an issue with a gas main line. Authorities are not sure what caused the explosion.
According to a post from the Fountain Lake Schools’ Facebook page, two saferooms are open for those who need shelter. Officials also say saferooms at Jessieville Schools are open.
Many people reported a rumble in the area around 11:00 p.m.
