Update: Arson Ruled out in Cotham’s Fire



SCOTT, Ark. – The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) has closed its investigation of a fire that destroyed Cotham’s Mercantile in Scott.

Authorities say there were no signs of arson in the blaze that burned the historic restaurant on May 29. The PCSO says the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Cotham’s started out as a general store in 1912.  

In the 1980’s the establishment started serving its iconic hubcap burger.

Over the years, the restaurant attracted celebrities and national TV shows.

SCOTT, Ark. – A fire has destroyed a historic Arkansas landmark.

The blaze at Cotham’s in Scott started around 11 p.m. Monday, May 29.

Cotham’s has been a staple in the Scott community since 1917.

It started as a mercantile store, then became a prominent restaurant where you could see all kinds of distinguished Arkansans dine.

There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.
