LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A local man has been charged in a November homicide after police say he surrendered to detectives at the Little Rock Police Department’s 12th Street Substation on Monday.
Calvin Christerfer Stephens, 23, is charged with Murder 1st Degree in the Nov. 30 killing of Jalen Faulkner, 18, inside a convenience store on S. Woodrow.
The incident occurred at the #2 Woodrow Discount Store at 13th & Woodrow in the central part of the city.
Faulkner was found lying on the floor of the store suffering from gunshot wounds and died a short time later at the hospital.
Witnesses told police the victim was inside the business when an unknown black male walked to the front door and began shooting. The suspect then got into a car and drove away.
Stephens is being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility. His jail record notes a hold for another agency.
