JOHNSON COUNTY, Ark. – Two people are in custody and a third person is sought — all three with the same last name — in connection with a recent accident and stabbing.

On Monday, July 24, just after 4 p.m., the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) received a call of an accident south of Hartman in the western part of Johnson County.

When they arrived, deputies discovered that an altercation had occurred and a person had reportedly been stabbed.

Further investigation determined that the stabbing victim was currently at the Johnson County Regional Medical Center. The victim has since been treated and released.

Deputies say two suspects, J.D. Gifford II, 24, and Kayla Gifford, 23, are being held in the Johnson County Detention Center on preliminary charges of Aggravated Assault. They say another suspect, Jacob Gifford, is a person of interest in this case and is wanted for questioning.

This is an ongoing investigation.
