PHILADELPHIA, Pa.–The Democratic National Convention starts Monday in Philadelphia amid some strife and on the heels of Donald Trump officially receiving the nomination of the Republican party.

The Delegation spent the day checking into hotels, getting credentials preparing for a busy week ahead,, but there’s a backdrop of controversy.

Throughout the day Sunday, demonstrators took to the streets of Philadelphia, many of them to show their support for the runner up in the Democratic Presidential Primary, Bernie Sanders.

As they arrived in the City of Brotherly Love state Delegates said the Sanders movement is good for the party.

But in the end these Democrats say the party will unite around Hillary Clinton, even if she was not their first choice because they all share a common goal of stopping Donald Trump.
