Special Olympics Arkansas is right around the corner and athletes are gearing up.
The pre-qualifying games were held Friday for athletes from Benton, Washington, and Madison Counties who competed in a variety of track and field events.
The games are for participants who want to advance to the state summer games.
School-age and adult athletes competed in a wide variety of track and field events.
“we’ve had athletes that have done the same thing for years and this year they decided that they wanted to try something harder and show us that they can do so much more.” – Casey Watson, Supportive living administrative assistant.
She state summer games will be held at Harding University in Searcy from May 23rd through the 25th.
