LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Christmas has a special place in the heart of a Bald Knob teen.
In fact, Alosha Schulist, 13, may be one of Santa’s biggest fans.
He found a love for all things Christmas while battling health problems he’s had since birth.
On Wednesday before an appointment at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the Christmas superfan met Santa at Park Plaza Mall.
Born three months premature, Alosha was diagnosed with spina bifida and battles chronic lung disease. He had to be on a ventilator until he was 7 and endured 26 surgeries by the time he was 11.
During the time he was on the ventilator, friends and family from all over the world started sending him Christmas cards to hang in his bedroom during the holiday season.
The tradition soon turned into a full time love for the holiday.
Alosha calls Santa every month, writes letters throughout the year and even has Christmas themed birthday parties.
This Christmas he’s asking for the one thing that started it all…and maybe something else too.
Health wise, Alosha is much better.
“I want to thank you for never giving up and never quitting,” Santa told him.
Nothing slows down Alosha when it comes to the joy of Christmas.
