LONOKE COUNTY, Ark. – County deputies are searching for two suspects involved in a home invasion burglary on Dec. 4.

Just before midnight on Tuesday the Lonoke County 911 Center received a call from a 70-year-old woman saying two men had broken into their Ward home near the 2000 block of Hwy 321 North. The caller said the men identified themselves as the Lonoke County Police and were asking if they had any guns, deputies say.

According to the incident report, the caller’s husband asked to see their badges and that was when one of the men grabbed a purse out of the room and they both fled the home.

Deputies responded and with the use of a K-9 unit, deputies followed a trail to a nearby church where tire tracks were located and the K-9 lost track. The victims described the men wearing masks and one of them may have a speech impediment.
