School Vegetable Garden in NLR Gets Donation

News

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A local school’s vegetable garden is getting a major upgrade, thanks to a generous donation.

Dozens of students at North Little Rock Academy lined up to watch former University of Arkansas and NFL quarterback Clint Stoerner and his dreambuilders program present a check for 10 thousand dollars from UnitedHealthcare.

The donation will enable the school to grow in more ways than one, doubling the size of their vegetable garden, and buying much needed equipment.

“The garden promotes healthy eating, first and foremost and improves nutrition,” says Steve Wilson, CEO UnitedHealthcare.

“These kids learn the lesson of growing something every day, the accountability and responsibility…but at the end of the day they’re feeding the school,” says Stoerner.

The vegetable garden provides fresh produce to students and their families.
