PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Democratic National Convention hasn’t even started yet and already the protests have begun.
Bernie Sanders’ supporters protested outside a meeting held by the D.N.C. Rules Committee chanting “Open the doors”, but they were kept out.
The protesters want to eliminate super delegates in future elections.
Some are saying Sanders’ campaign was hurt by Hillary Clinton’s overwhelming support from super delegates.
Inside the meeting room, a delegate for Sanders offered an amendment to get rid of super delegates.
The amendment was defeated but it gained enough support to force a floor vote at the convention next week.
