BENTON, AR – The Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is putting its latest information in your hand with the launch of a mobile website.
The new offering is designed specifically for smartphone and mobile device users.
In a news release issued Wednesday, the SCSO said the new mobile website solution provides easy access to the most popular content for site visitors, including news releases, the jail inmate roster, most wanted, and sex offender information.
Site visitors can also submit a crime tip to the SCSO from their mobile device.
The mobile site is compatible with virtually all phones and mobile devices including Blackberry, iPhone, Windows phone, Android phone, iPad, and other types of tablets. To access the mobile law enforcement site, simply visit the web address of the Sheriff’s Office (www.scsosheriff.org) using the smartphone or tablet’s Internet browser. The mobile site will immediately display. The SCSO says because the mobile site uses mainly text, with the option to download images and graphics, the site displays quickly and saves on data plans. For users who prefer to view the full website, there is a link at the bottom of the mobile site to access the complete site.
“Each day, more and more web users are accessing the Internet via smartphones or other mobile devices. Our new mobile site provides a convenient way for the public to view important information from the Sheriff’s Office while on the go. This mobile technology broadens the scope of our community policing efforts and improves our ability to keep our citizens informed,” said Sheriff Rodney Wright.
The Sheriff’s Office has also completed updates on its Inmate Roster and has brought it back online. The agency says having the jail roster online will allow the public to view photos and booking details for individuals in the detention center as well as those released within the last 48 hours.
The mobile site is an abbreviated version of the SCSO’s full website, which also has a new look.
