Update:

The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Jonathan Allen Scott of Hot Springs. He is at a local hospital in critical condition.

Update:

HOT SPRINGS, Ark . — The Hot Springs Police Department is currently on the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the 500 block of Central Avenue.

An officer and the suspect have been shot.

The officer has been identified as Jonathan Smith he was shot twice in the shooting. The PIO says he’s in stable condition and expected to be released from the hospital tonight. The suspects name has not been released. He was flown to a hospital.

Smith is now in stable condition.

We are asking that the public avoid the area until further notice. We also ask that if anyone has video or was a witness, to please contact the Garland County Sheriff’s Department at 501-622-3660.
