CONWAY, AR — Proceeds from a pancake fundraiser benefit kids going back to school.
Organizers served breakfast from 8 a.m. till 1 p.m. at Stoby’s in Conway on Sunday.
The purpose — to help buy backpacks for kids returning to school this Fall.
Customers paid $5 for a stack of pancakes and all proceeds went to the Pleasant Branch Baptist Pine Street Community Backpack Program.
The program provides low income students with backpacks filled with school supplies every August.
Organizers say they expect even more recipients this year because of the tornadoes that ripped through the area in April.
