LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – An old pickup truck is turning heads in The Natural State.
Rick McKay was given a 1951 Chevy pickup by his dad in the mid 1970s.
“75 dollars is what we paid for it originally,” he says.
“I’m never going to get rid of it,” he said after his father’s death a few years later.
Decades later, Rick’s love for the Razorbacks took over, he completely modified the ride from under the hood to the cab, to a ‘Pig’ture perfect paint job.
“I get asked all the time, ‘do you show it?’ And I really didn’t build it to show, I built it to drive,” he explains. “I enjoy it the most when other people enjoy it.”
There’s no doubt, Rick would love for new Head Football Coach Chad Morris to ride shotgun in the truck, but unlike Coach Morris’s favorite sayings ‘pop the clutch’, this truck is a little different.
“He would have been able to pop the clutch when it was original, but now he can’t pop the clutch all he can do is hit the gas,” Rick adds.
