HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — A 10-year-old Arkansas boy whose battle with leukemia is proving to be an inspiration, finally got his wish to go home.

Max Boyce was at Arkansas Children’s for more than a year. His parents, Monique and Mark Huseby, say the stay was supposed to short-term, but a complication with chemotherapy kept him requiring round-the-clock care.

After learning Max’s cancer aggressivly spread and he’d need to be on hospice, Max’s parents brought him home over the weekend.

Cell phone video shows Max reunited with his pet cat, Gracie. During his hospital stay the 10-year-old kept his room filled with cat stuffed animals and even had one he brought to every treatment.

The Huseby’s say they just want to celebrate their son, saying through it all Max hasn’t complained once.
