Maumelle Players seek help to build new stage

News

MAUMELLE, Ark. – A Central Arkansas community theater needs a new stage and is asking for help to make it happen.

The “Maumelle Players” performs out of a back room at the Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church.

Over time, the nonprofit expanded and made necessary repairs on the stage.

But the group’s president, Victor Werner, says it’s past repairing the repairs and they need to build a new one so the actors can continue their mission in Maumelle.

“It’s a chance for people to laugh, to have a good time, to just enjoy the evening (and) maybe to forget the problems of the world or the problems that they’re having and to come here and just have a good time,” he says.

The volunteer actors are trying to raise about 35-hundred dollars for the supplies.
