LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Winner winner chicken dinner…
Student teams from Little Rock School District were named the regional winners of the fall 2018 session of the Stock Market Game program.
Students at Don Roberts Elementary took home first and second place respectively in the Elementary School Division.
The students will win cash prizes and copies of the bull trophy at an awards luncheon in May.
The game is designed to teach and promote financial literacy among students by challenging them to grow a $100,000 stock portfolio over the course of 12 weeks.
“Any with those sectors I taught them you know you’re not just going to put money in fast food, you’re going to put money in clothing and textiles agriculture fuel. Think about the things you use on a daily basis and spread your money out,” says Joshua Penticoff.
The students will once again be given a chance to compete in this competition next year as fifth graders.
Although the course will be more difficult and have more riskier investment options.
The program was made possible thanks to a donation from First Financial Bank.
