Water rescue training underway in Conway

Conway,Ark.-Dozens of firefighter’s spent Tuesday in the classroom and on the water in preparation for possible water rescue situations.

The Conway Fire Department hosted the “Task Force Once Team” at it’s downtown fire station for training. 
“At anytime given time we can be called out anywhere in the state or anywhere in the county for a water rescue,” explained team member Randel Green.

The Conway fire department has multiple boats that can be deployed at anytime.

“It’s a tremendous thing that we have these we are able to get out and do all different measures of water rescues with our boats,” said team leader Battilon Chief Scot Irwin.

The team is trained in every type of water rescue, including swift water.

“You know how weather is in Arkansas wait five minutes and its going to change,” Irwin went on to say.
The training will last through the end of the week.
