Update: Victim identified in Pope County homicide

Update:

HECTOR, Ark.- Pope County Sheriff Shane Jones says the victim of a homicide earlier this week was Jeremy Davis.

Davis, 41, was found dead Monday by Pope County deputies at a home in Hector. 

Jason Royalty was arrested at the home Monday and appeared before Judge  Don Bourne on Wednesday. 

Bourne’s bond was set at $150,000. He is scheduled to appear in Pope County Circuit Court on July 1.

POPE COUNTY, Ark. – A man is dead and another is in jail after a shooting in Hector.

The Pope County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) says it happened shortly after 10 p.m. Monday at a home.

The suspect, identified as Jason Royalty, 44, was taken into custody at the scene and is being held at the Pope County Detention Center on a charge of 1st Degree Murder. He will go before a judge in a Wednesday morning bond hearing.  

The PCSO is not yet releasing any further information on the incident, including the name of the victim.
