PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff campus is mourning the death of a fifth student this semester.

UAPB announced on its Facebook page early Tuesday that freshman ROTC cadet and student-athlete Sierra’li Wade died after being shot in her hometown of Lake Village (Chicot County). The post stated that Wade was playing basketball when she was shot.

There are no further details on the incident.

We spoke to UAPB’s Director of Counseling, who told us that in her 40 years there she’s never seen this many students lost.

The women’s basketball team is traveling for a game. They were at the University of Texas when the news came out. UT had a chaplain counsel the girls.

The other students who have died this semester include:
Adriana Greenwood, 23, of Point Blank, Texas and Treylin Crawford, 19, of North Little Rock. Both died in a traffic accident on Interstate 30 near Bryant on November 6.

Jaikahb Ingram, 19, of Pine Bluff, was found unresponsive at a campus housing complex on Oct. 15.
