LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Trader Joe’s confirmed Tuesday that the grocery store chain has looked at Little Rock locations this year.
“We have looked into locations in the area but nothing confirmed at this time,” a company spokesperson said. She added that Trader Joe’s only opens one location at a time and could not discuss any further details.
The food blog Rock City Eats first reported that Trader Joe’s could be coming to the Natural State. As of Tuesday, no permits have been filed in the City of Little Rock.
The California-based company has 474 stores nationwide in 43 states and in Washington, D.C.
The grocery chain focuses on its own Trader Joe’s brand of products, many of which have a cult-like following. Arkansans for years have been asking for it to come to the state.
