LITTLE ROCK, Ark — Black Friday was a big win for online retailers.
American shoppers spent a record five-billion dollars online which is almost 17-percent more than last year.
That’s from the data firm “Adobe digital insights”– that tracks online spending.
Some experts say that Cyber Monday could be even bigger than Black Friday with as much as six-billion dollars in online sales.
And online shoppers can score big if they take advantage of certain tips and shortcuts this Cyber Monday.
Blake Puryear, a strategist with a e-commerce company called Engine, says it’s important for consumers to start early to comparison shop.
The best way to take advantage of the holiday deals is to discontinue your brand loyalty and use websites that assemble all the discounts on to one page to save you time.
He also says to be careful of fake websites looking to hack your personal information.
“You’re gonna want to make sure that in your browser when you are checking out that you have that green check mark, that the site is secure, that it is https.”
Puryear also says to make sure to read the fine-print carefully because companies will change their return policies to take advantage of holiday shoppers.
