UPDATE: Sherwood Police identify victim found dead inside car Thursday

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — We have received several calls and emails concerning the death of the 17-year-old in Sherwood. Many people are asking us to refer to the victim as “Brayla”. We have consulted with the Stone family. They have asked us to use the victim’s birth name in our reporting. We continue to follow any updated information on the investigation.  

UPDATE:

SHERWOOD, Ark.- Sherwood Police have identified the victim found dead inside a car Thursday at a walking path off Gap Creek Drive as Braylon Jay-Quan Stone, 17, of North Little Rock.

ORIGINAL STORY:

SHERWOOD, Ark. — The Sherwood Police Department was called at approximately 2:55 p.m. on June, 25 to a walking path off of Gap Creek Drive in reference to a car on the walking path.

Once officers got there they discovered the body of an unidentified person, dead inside the car.

The body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for identification.

The Sherwood Police Office is investigating the incident as a homicide. No further details will be released until the identification of the body and next of kin has been notified.
