LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Thursday is National Red Nose Day, and in Little Rock, a business helping Cloverdale Middle School is getting a bump in funding.
City Year has been serving Little Rock for 10 years, and Cloverdale for the past five years.
Thanks to donations collected from the Red Nose Day Telethon, they are receiving $100,000.
The money will go to hiring AmeriCorps members and help with everything from tutoring and mentoring, to even starting a student government program.
“It’s a national campaign, but the red noses that you buy here do come here,” says Maddie Daniel, Chief of Staff for City Year. “It’s fun bit it’s also a way to support local businesses and for City Year to support local schools.”
Little Rock is among 11 cities in the country to receive the full sponsorship of $100,000.
You can find red noses at your local Walgreens.
Donations stay local.
