UPDATE: One injured, search for suspect begins after shooting at Stuttgart factory Friday night

STUTTGART, Ark. – One person is hurt after a shooting Friday night at the Lennox factory in Stuttgart.

According to Stuttgart investigators, Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to calls of an active shooter around 10:30 p.m.

Officers secured the area and were able to locate a shooting victim who was transported to a hospital.

The suspected shooter fled the area before police arrived.

Investigators believe they have identified the person responsible as Edward Gene Spears, Jr. of Pine Bluff and are working on locating him.

Stuttgart police, Arkansas County deputies, Prairie County deputies, DeWitt police, Hazen police, Humphrey marshals, England police, and the Stuttgart Fire Department all assisted in securing the scene and searching for the suspect overnight.

Spears is considered armed and dangerous.
