On this day in 1954,  a new Arkansas college was accredited by the North Central Association named Harding College.

The new higher education learning center is located in Searcy, Arkansas and was formed from two smaller junior colleges.

The school has grown from the initial enrollment of seventy-five college level students into the largest private college institution in the state.

Harding University provides higher learning along with a culture of religious values for hopeful academic students of all ages.

Harding University has certainly helped the growth of the small town of Searcy who recently was chosen to be on the Hulu show, “Small Business Revolution-Main Street”.

On this day in 2016, actress Melissa Joan Hart, star of God’s Not Dead 2 attends, the world premiere of the movie at Riverdale 10 Cinema in Little Rock.

On this day in 2015, American Pharoah wins his first race at Oaklawn during the Rebel Stakes. He later went on to win the Triple Crown.
