LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Project Zero works right here in Arkansas to connect children aging out of the foster care system with a forever family. 

Kids like DK, who had a surprise 17th Birthday party today was thanks to donors here in Arkansas and as far as Australia. 

They donated thousands of dollars, sent gifts and letters to make his day special. 

Organizers even brought some of DK’s friends from the group homes he’s lived in to celebrate. 

“He just said, ‘Hey Miss Christie can you throw me a birthday party,’ and I just melted to the ground, and I said yes,” says Christie Erwin, Project Zero Executive Director.

“Some of them don’t even get stuff for birthday parties, but I got it and they actually care about me,” says Dekarion Brown.

The greatest gift they say would be giving these children a home.
