MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Ark. – An escaped Arkansas Department of Correction (ADC) work release inmate caught last week in Florida is back in state custody.
Christopher Baggett, 46, was returned on Wednesday to the ADC’s Mississippi County W/R.
He had walked away from a work release assignment on June 7 and was captured the next day.

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. – An inmate who walked away from a work release program in Arkansas has been taken into custody in Florida.
Christopher Baggett was taken into custody by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Department shortly after 8:00 a.m. Saturday.
According to the Arkansas Department of Correction, Baggett will be held in Florida until he is extradited back to Arkansas.
The Department of Correction will be coordinating extradition plans with the Arkansas State Police and the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Department.
The Department expressed appreciation for assistance from those agencies as well as from the Mobile, Alabama Police Department, the Biloxi, Mississippi Police Department, and the Florida Highway Patrol.
An investigation into Baggett’s escape is continuing.
