Good News Matters: Heifer International celebrates 75 years

Local News

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Heifer International continues to make a worldwide impact, and they’re located in Arkansas.

This year is their biggest one yet.

“We were founded in 1944 by an Indiana farmer,” says Bob Bloom, Heifer International’s Chief Financial Officer. “Since then, we helped over 30 million families.”

Over the years, Heifer has empowered families by training them in sustainable farming and helping farmers gain access to the market.

“We’re making an important milestone, and we’re excited about the future for us,” Bloom says.

This week, they have several events to mark the occasion, their annual ‘Feast in the Field’ is another sold-out event to celebrate all the Heifer does and help local farmers.

“We work with a community here in Little Rock that has been very generous for this event,” says Bloom.

There is still an event you can take part in, ‘Urban Farm Fest’, a fun event for a great cause.

“Food trucks, lawn games, food, with a band playing,” Bloom explains.

There are still plenty of opportunities to give back to such an amazing cause that’s headquartered in Little Rock. You can give a gift that keeps on giving.

“Give a gift of chicks for $25, honeybees for $30, a goat for $120 or a heifer cow for $500,” Bloom explains.

Giving back in Arkansas and across the world.
