NORTHWEST, Ark.– Team USA Gold Medal Gymnast Laurie Hernandez made a stop in Fayetteville Saturday to meet the tumblers of the future.
The Williams Center opened its doors for the Rio Olympian to meet and greet with her fans.
Young girls that train at the center had the chance to show off their routines. Then Hernandez sat down with them to talk about her career and the journey leading up to the Rio Olympics.
She says, “After an Olympic year, gymnastics goes above the radar. A lot of kids sign up for it and a lot of kinds kind of recognize that it is a sport and I think its exciting because every year you get more and more kids that want to try it out and you see a lot of progress with them because they like it so much.”
Saturday’s meet and greet was made possible through a partnership with Febreeze and Walmart.
