Family Searches 100 Acre Property Looking for Missing Woman

HOT SPRING COUNTY, Ark. - A Hot Spring County woman went missing early July 3rd.

Now her family is preparing for the worst, as they search a 100 acre property where she was last seen alive.

Tonya Johnson and her daughter returned from another search out in the woods for Peggy Crabtree Tuesday morning.

"Every time I come out it just kills me that again I have to come out without finding her," Johnson said.

Emotions run high as family, friends and volunteer fire fighters scour the land outside Malvern hoping to find her.

"This property is huge. We have 100 acres to search through," Darci Woodall said. Woodall is Crabtree's daughter.

According to the Hot Spring County incident report, Crabtree went missing from the Erwin Road property on July 3rd.

"At this point, 7 days, I'm expecting to find her body," Johnson said.

Her family says the last person to see Crabtree was her boyfriend. They were staying on the property together.

The incident report says a neighbor say Crabtree walking down the main road toward town in mint green pajamas.

"I've checked every possible thing I could check. Where she could be, who she could be with," Woodall said.

But Woodall keeps coming up empty.

It's a frustrating feeling looking for someone who brought her so much life.

"She is a people person. She loves people, she loves talking to people," Woodall said.

"She has a bubbly personality. She's funny," Johnson said.

Woodall says her mother ran out of some important medications recently and may have been acting erratically.

"We just want to find her and bring her home so we're at peace," Johnson said.

And from sunrise to sunset, they're working to do just that.

"I'm going to be out here every day at 9 o'clock until my mom is found," Woodall said.

Hot Spring County Sheriff's detectives have not said if they suspect foul play.

With such a large property to search, the family is asking for any volunteers to help search for Crabtree or clues to where she may be.
