Update:
CALHOUN COUNTY, Ark. – New information from the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) reveals a Tuesday morning explosion at a defense technology plant did not occur at the facility first reported.

Early Tuesday afternoon, ADEM said the blast occurred at the Aerojet plant in East Camden.

The extent of the explosion is not yet known.

One injured person was airlifted to a hospital. There’s no further word on their condition.

ADEM says the scene is in Calhoun County right on the border with Ouachita County.

CALHOUN COUNTY, Ark. – An explosion has been reported at the Esterline defense technology manufacturing plant.

The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) confirms there has been one injury but there are no details on the person’s condition.

ADEM also says the incident has been “contained.” 

According to the Esterline website flares are made at the plant.

“Information over the scanner at CN is relating that an area of the roadway near Quickies II is being blocked off for a victim of the blast to be airlifted to a medical facility,” reads a post on The Camden Nes Facebook page..

Back in May 2016, an explosion at the same plant left two people injured (see attached related story).
