MANILA, Ark. – Police in Manila are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting.
It happened Tuesday night at a home off Highway 18 in Mississippi County.
The family of the victim, who is identified as Christopher Palmer, 37, says he is schizophrenic and would often times have good days and bad days.
They said when the officer came to the home last night, he asked Palmer questions.
That’s when Palmer’s stepfather says things took a turn.
“He said, ‘Stop or I’m going to tase you,” says Paul Cravens, Christopher Palmer’s stepfather. “He didn’t tase him, he grabbed his gun, his side piece and shot six fires, six shots in his direction.”
The officer has been placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
