Christmas Trees More Pricey Due to Shortages Shortages

Local News

PEA RIDGE, Ark. — Many of have already started putting up holiday decorations, but a shortage of Christmas trees across the country could ruin your chances of finding the perfect one for your living room.

Wildfire and drought have caused a national Christmas tree shortage across the nation and that’s trickling down into Arkansas.

Martin James-Babb is the owner of Wonderland Tree Farms in Pea Ridge, and he says their inventory this year has been cut making those pines more pricey.
“It’s like supply and demand. My prices went up a lot because of what my grower is now charging me, and I’m sure they are doing that to everyone else. They just went up so much.”

The shortage is forcing some Arkansas tree sellers to look in different parts of the country to keep up with inventory.
