UPDATE: Child dies in Gentry house fire

GENTRY, Ark. (KNWA) — UPDATE: A 1-year-old boy died in a Northwest Arkansas house fire on Saturday, according to Gentry Fire Chief Vester Cripps.

Cripps said the family was outside the house when the fire started, but the 1-year-old ran back inside to save a pet and died.

The cause of the fire and death remain under investigation.

It happened at 22718 Worthington Road on Saturday afternoon.

Authorities could not confirm the name or age of the deceased child.
